A townscape built on the spirit of local culture that has been passed down through generations since the local villages began to prosper in the Sengoku era. Nagahama is a city of breathtaking scenery where beautiful nature is woven together with the society.

Surrounded by the rich environment of Lake Biwa, forests, and satoyama, there are plenty of outdoor activities such as cycling, trekking, and lake sports. There are also many cultural pleasures such as historical exploration, shopping, and workshop experiences in historical trade districts.

From Nagoya Airport: Go to JR Nagoya Sta. by bus or train (Meitetsu). Take the Shinkansen from Nagoya Sta. to Maibara Sta. (about 30 min). Then transfer to the JR Hokuriku Main Line to Nagahama Sta. (10 min).

From Kansai Airport: Take the JR Kansai International Limited Express Haruka and get off at JR Osaka Sta. or JR Kyoto Sta. Transfer to the Shinkansen, and take it to Maibara Sta., (20 min from Kyoto, or 35 min from Osaka). Change to the JR Hokuriku Line at Maibara Sta. and get off at Nagahama Sta. (10 min).

From Tokyo: About 2 hours to Maibara Sta. by Shinkansen. Change to the JR Hokuriku Main Line at Maibara Sta. and get off at Nagahama Sta. (10 min).

From Kyoto / Osaka: 20 minutes (from Kyoto) or 35 minutes (from Osaka) to Maibara Sta. by Shinkansen. From Maibara Sta., take the JR Hokuriku Main Line to Nagahama Sta. (10 min).
